The Assay Genie Human PCDHA5 ELISA Kit quantifies Protocadherin Alpha 5, a calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecule belonging to the protocadherin alpha subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. PCDHA5 is encoded within the clustered PCDHA gene locus on chromosome 5q31 and is expressed predominantly in neural tissue, where it contributes to dendritic arborization, neuronal self-avoidance, and the establishment of synaptic specificity during brain development.

This microplate-based assay uses a human-specific capture antibody for selective detection of Protocadherin Alpha 5.
