Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Parkin coregulated gene protein (PACRG) in human samples. The assay detects natural and recombinant human PACRG and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Synonyms reported for the target include molecular chaperone/chaperonin-binding protein, PARK2 coregulated gene protein and GLUP (UniProt Q96M98).

The kit delivers a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.156 ng/mL, using a colorimetric ELISA readout. Reported intra-assay precision is 4.8% CV and inter-assay precision is 8.2% CV. Spike-and-recovery performance is documented for serum (average 99%, range 93-105%) and plasma (average 101%, range 95-107%), and linearity has been characterised across serial dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The product is intended for research use only.

PACRG is a protein co-regulated with the PARKIN gene that has been implicated in the formation of Lewy bodies and the protection of dopaminergic neurons, and is therefore of interest in research into Parkinson's disease.
