Description
This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Parathyroid hormone (PTH) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric detection and shows reactivity with human samples. It recognizes both natural and recombinant human Parathyroid hormone, also known by the synonyms Parathormone and Parathyrin. According to Assay Genie, PTH is a hormone that elevates calcium levels by dissolving salts in bone and preventing their renal excretion; imbalances in PTH are associated with bone disorders such as osteoporosis and hyperparathyroidism, making accurate measurement valuable for research into bone health and mineral metabolism.
The kit delivers a detection range of 23.44-1500pg/mL with a sensitivity of 5.86pg/mL. Assay Genie reports intra-assay precision (CV) of 5.6% and inter-assay precision (CV) of 9.3%. Linearity was validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum ranging 97-118%, EDTA plasma 90-115% and heparin plasma 85-113% across dilutions. Recovery was 97% (range 91-103%) in serum and 99% (range 93-105%) in plasma. The kit is for research use only, and the PTH protein (UniProt P01270, molecular weight 12,861 Da) interacts with PTH1R via its N-terminal extracellular domain; the research area is Cancer.
