Human PAICS (Multifunctional protein ADE2) ELISA Kit (HUFI07353)

This ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is supplied for research use only and supports quantitative measurement of human PAICS using an absorbance-based readout on a standard microplate reader. PAICS, also known as multifunctional protein ADE2, is a bifunctional enzyme that catalyzes two consecutive steps in the de novo purine biosynthesis pathway, converting 5-aminoimidazole ribonucleotide (AIR) to CAIR and SAICAR to AICAR. The assay is species-specific for human PAICS, with no significant cross-reactivity against mouse or rat orthologues reported by the manufacturer. Because purine synthesis is upregulated in proliferating tumor cells, PAICS expression has been investigated as a candidate biomarker in prostate, breast, and lung cancer research, and in studies of cell proliferation and metabolic reprogramming. The kit is provided as a complete reagent set, including pre-coated strip plates, biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant protein standards, streptavidin-HRP, wash buffer, and substrate solution, sufficient for 96 individual in vitro determinations per run, with a recommended loading sample volume of 100 µL per well.
