Description

Designed for the precise measurement of p38 MAPK in human samples, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method on a double-antibody platform. The assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a reported sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Validation data from the manufacturer report linearity of 86-103% in serum, 88-94% in EDTA plasma, and 82-98% in heparin plasma across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 (n=5). Spike-and-recovery values average 95% for serum (range 92-105%), 94% for EDTA plasma (range 88-102%), and 95% for heparin plasma (range 90-105%). The protocol involves a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, and TMB color development for 10-20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm after stopping the reaction.

p38 MAPK, also known as mitogen-activated protein kinase (UniProt Q16539), is a key signalling molecule involved in cellular responses to stress stimuli and plays roles in inflammation, immune response, and cell proliferation. Dysregulation of p38 MAPK signalling has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and inflammatory conditions, making the kit relevant to research in the cell death area.
