Procollagen type I N-terminal propeptide is a marker of bone formation and collagen synthesis, supporting research into bone metabolism, osteoporosis, and related conditions. Reported linearity across dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8) for serum ranges from 84-100% to 89-101% to 87-101%; for EDTA plasma 84-96%, 89-97%, 82-100%; and for heparin plasma 82-97%, 85-98%, 92-101%. Spike-and-recovery performance is reported as 87-101% (average 96%) in serum, 86-103% (average 95%) in EDTA plasma, and 92-104% (average 92%) in heparin plasma.
