Quantify p130Cas (also called BCAR1, Breast Cancer Anti-Estrogen Resistance 1) levels in human research specimens with this colorimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie. p130Cas is a mechanosensitive scaffold protein localized at focal adhesions, where Src-family phosphorylation of its substrate domain drives integrin signaling, cytoskeletal remodeling, and cell migration. Aberrant p130Cas expression and tyrosine phosphorylation are widely studied in cancer invasion, breast tumor progression, and resistance to endocrine therapies, making it a valuable target for translational research.

This kit is supplied as a complete reagent set in a 96-strip microplate configuration and is intended for research use only. Each kit includes a pre-coated plate, lyophilized standards, detection antibody, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop solution sufficient for 96 individual reactions. It is validated for measurement in human serum or plasma samples, as well as clarified cell lysates. Reagents should be stored refrigerated and protected from light to preserve activity; specific dilution and protocol details are included in the product manual.

Typical applications include profiling p130Cas abundance in tumor tissue lysates, monitoring focal adhesion signaling in cell line models, and comparing patient-derived samples in studies of metastatic potential and drug response. Researchers investigating breast cancer resistance pathways often pair total-p130Cas quantification with phospho-specific Western blots to correlate protein level with activation status at the major Src-family tyrosine phosphorylation sites.
