Human P-selectin (SELP) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human P-selectin (SELP) in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Detection is by colorimetric ELISA, and the assay is specific for natural and recombinant human P-selectin (UniProt P16109). Reported synonyms for the target include CD62 antigen-like family member P, Granule membrane protein 140, Leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion molecule 3, PADGEM, GMP-140, LECAM3, CD62P, GMRP and GRMP.

According to the manufacturer datasheet, performance characteristics include a detection range of 62.5-4000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 28pg/mL, with intra-assay precision reported as an Intra CV of 3.7% and inter-assay precision as an Inter CV of 6.9%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, spanning 84-120%. Recovery averages 102% (range 96-108%) for serum and 104% (range 98-110%) for plasma.

P-selectin is described as a Ca(2+)-dependent receptor for myeloid cells that recognises sialyl-Lewis X on neutrophils and monocytes, mediating the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes and supporting leukocyte rolling during the early stages of inflammation.
