Human OTC/Ornithine Carbamoyltransferase ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of ornithine carbamoyltransferase (OTC) in human samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is supplied for research use in metabolism-related studies.

The kit detects OTC in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. Manufacturer-stated performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 1.875 mIU/mL and a measurable range of 3.125–200 mIU/mL. Linearity was evaluated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions. Reported average recoveries are 96% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma and 98% for heparin plasma, and reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Ornithine carbamoyltransferase is a key enzyme in the urea cycle, and dysregulation of its activity has been implicated in various liver disorders and metabolic diseases. The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labelled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate and the buffers needed to perform the assay, with absorbance read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.
