Osteocrin, also called Musclin, is a secreted protein first identified in osteoblasts and later recognised as a myokine expressed in skeletal muscle. It modulates natriuretic peptide signalling by binding the NPR-C clearance receptor and has been linked to bone formation, endochondral ossification, and peripheral glucose uptake. The Assay Genie kit provides a quantitative immunoassay for human OSTN, enabling studies of skeletal growth, osteoblast differentiation, and the muscle-bone endocrine axis using clinical and tissue-derived sample preparations.
