OSCAR (Osteoclast Associated Receptor) is a cell-surface immunoglobulin-like receptor involved in myeloid cell signaling, osteoclast differentiation, and collagen-driven innate immune responses. Investigations into OSCAR biology support studies of bone resorption, rheumatoid arthritis inflammation, osteoimmunology, monocyte and dendritic cell activation, and the regulation of mature osteoclast activity by collagen ligands. The receptor is expressed on osteoclast precursors, mature osteoclasts, monocytes, and macrophages, where it functions as a co-stimulatory molecule during RANK-L driven osteoclastogenesis.

This Assay Genie ELISA kit enables quantitative measurement of human OSCAR in research specimens. Each kit contains reagents for 96 individual determinations, with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash concentrate, substrate, and stop solution. The detection method relies on a colorimetric substrate read at the assay endpoint, and the kit has been validated across human serum samples, plasma samples, and tissue homogenates, as well as cell culture supernatant and synovial fluid preparations from primary human cells. Researchers commonly apply this assay to monitor OSCAR expression in bone-marrow derived macrophages, monocyte-derived dendritic cells, and inflamed joint tissue lysates.

Store refrigerated upon arrival. Allow all reagents to reach room temperature before use, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of diluted standards and detection antibody. For research use only; not for clinical or diagnostic applications.
