Human Ornithine Carbamoyl Transferase/OCT ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of Ornithine Carbamoyl Transferase (OCT), a key enzyme of the urea cycle involved in nitrogen metabolism. The assay is configured as a double-antibody sandwich ELISA with colorimetric readout and is intended for research use, including applications investigating the enzyme as a biomarker for metabolic disorders.

The kit reacts with human samples and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types. Sensitivity is 0.281 ng/mL with a working range of 0.469–30 ng/mL. Linearity has been characterised for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. Recovery ranges are 87–101% in serum (average 92%), 89–105% in EDTA plasma (average 94%) and 87–103% in heparin plasma (average 92%). Unopened kit components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The assay procedure follows a six-step workflow: equilibrate reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, perform a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, add a biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes, incubate with HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, develop with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, stop the reaction and read absorbance at 450 nm.
