Human Orexin ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this orexin immunoassay uses a sandwich, double-antibody format to quantify orexin in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Orexin is a key neuropeptide involved in regulating sleep-wake cycles, appetite, and energy metabolism, and its dysregulation has been linked to sleep disorders, eating disorders, and metabolic disorders, making it a relevant biomarker for research applications.

The assay provides a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Reported linearity in serum (n=5) was 83-100% at a 1:2 dilution, 91-98% at 1:4, and 84-95% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) gave 82-98%, 86-100%, and 81-95% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma (n=5) gave 90-98%, 85-101%, and 86-101%. Recovery averaged 95% for serum (range 86-103%), 95% for EDTA plasma (range 85-104%), and 98% for heparin plasma (range 87-104%). The colourimetric protocol uses a TMB substrate with absorbance read at 450 nm, and the kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
