Human Opticin/OPTC ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Opticin (OPTC) in human samples, supporting research in cell biology.

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The reported sensitivity is 46.875 pg/mL with a detection range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. Linearity in serum (n=5) was 86–102% at 1:2, 82–94% at 1:4 and 92–100% at 1:8; in EDTA plasma (n=5) 88–103%, 86–99% and 80–94%; and in heparin plasma (n=5) 88–104%, 90–101% and 83–97%. Recovery averaged 97% in serum (range 85–103%), 99% in EDTA plasma (92–105%) and 95% in heparin plasma (86–101%).

Opticin is a protein involved in regulating collagen fibril organisation and stabilisation within the extracellular matrix, contributing to tissue integrity and homeostasis. It has been implicated in tissue remodelling, wound healing, fibrosis, arthritis, cardiovascular disorders and ocular conditions. Components should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
