Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Oncostatin-M-specific receptor subunit beta (OSMR) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids.

OSMR is a cytokine receptor subunit that associates with IL31RA to form the IL31 receptor and, as a heterodimer with IL6ST, forms the type II OSM receptor. It transduces signaling by Oncostatin M, a cytokine involved in inflammation and immune response, and OSMR dysregulation has been implicated in cancer, autoimmune disorders and inflammatory conditions. The assay recognises natural and recombinant human OSMR (also known as Interleukin-31 receptor subunit beta, IL-31 receptor subunit beta, OSMRB; UniProt Q99650).

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56–100 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.39 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.3% and inter-assay CV is 8.7%. Spike-and-recovery in serum averaged 97% (range 91–103) and in plasma averaged 99% (range 93–105). Linearity was demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. The procedure is a colourimetric sandwich ELISA and the kit is intended for research use only.
