Oncostatin M receptor beta (OSMR) is a type I cytokine receptor subunit that heterodimerizes with gp130 to transduce signals from oncostatin M (OSM), a pleiotropic IL-6 family cytokine implicated in chronic inflammation, keratinocyte differentiation, and tumor microenvironment remodeling. This quantitative ELISA from Assay Genie quantifies OSMR in human urine, tissue homogenates, and cell lysates, supporting research into OSM/OSMR signaling and downstream activation of STAT3, MAPK, and PI3K cascades.

The kit ships with all reagents required to run 96 determinations in a standard microplate layout, with an absorbance-based endpoint measured on conventional plate readers. Validated matrices include urine, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and related preparations. The assay is intended for research use only and is reactive specifically with human samples.

Investigators working on atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, or solid tumor biology — contexts where altered OSMR expression has been documented — can deploy this kit to correlate receptor abundance with disease activity or pharmacological response. Unopened reagents should be stored refrigerated and equilibrated to room temperature before each run. A freshly prepared standard curve is recommended on every plate to enable accurate interpolation of unknown sample concentrations, and prepared working standards should be protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
