Human Oncomodulin-1 (OCM) ELISA Kit

The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and it recognizes both natural and recombinant human Oncomodulin-1. Detection is by colorimetric readout.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 23 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.3%, and an inter-assay CV of 11.3%. Linearity has been established across serial dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Recovery averages 100% (range 94-106%) in serum and 102% (range 96-108%) in plasma.

Oncomodulin-1 is a high-affinity calcium ion-binding protein belonging to the EF-hand superfamily and is described as an oncodevelopmental protein found in early embryonic placental cells and in tumours. It has some calmodulin-like activity relating to enzyme activation and growth regulation and binds two calcium ions.
