Human Omgp PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS0951)

The OMGP target (oligodendrocyte-myelin glycoprotein, also called OMG) is a GPI-anchored cell-surface glycoprotein expressed on oligodendrocytes and the myelin sheath, where it binds the Nogo receptor complex and contributes to inhibition of axonal sprouting. Assay Genie supplies this kit configured for quantitative measurement of human OMGP in cell culture supernatants, plasma, and serum, with the antibody pair raised against the human sequence and validated to show no significant cross-reactivity with rat or mouse OMGP.

Each kit supports 96 determinations on a pre-coated microplate using 100 µL of sample per well, run in duplicate. The workflow pairs a capture antibody with a biotinylated reporter and streptavidin-HRP, generating a chromogenic end-point read at 450 nm after an acid stop. Neuroscience laboratories use this kind of OMGP quantitation as a candidate biomarker of demyelination, including in multiple sclerosis research, where serum and plasma cohorts have been profiled against healthy controls.
