Human Omentin PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS0102)

This competitive immunoassay from Assay Genie provides quantitative measurement of human omentin-1 in serum and clarified cell culture supernatant specimens.

Omentin-1, also referred to as intelectin-1, is a secreted 313 amino acid adipokine produced preferentially by the stromal-vascular fraction of omental visceral adipose tissue. Published investigations have linked reduced circulating omentin-1 concentrations to obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, and atherosclerosis, making this analyte a frequent target in metabolic, endocrine, and cardiovascular research programs.

Reagents are supplied in a microplate competitive ELISA configuration with colorimetric readout and 96 individual assay positions per plate, supporting medium-throughput screening. The kit is intended for research use only and is not cleared for diagnostic or clinical applications.

Cell culture supernatants can be applied directly following centrifugation, while serum specimens should be aliquoted promptly and frozen at -80 °C to protect analyte integrity.
