Human Occludin (OCLN) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the precise detection of occludin levels in human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method and is intended for research use only.

Occludin is an integral membrane protein that plays a key role in the formation and regulation of the tight junction paracellular permeability barrier. Dysfunction of occludin has been linked to inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and cancer. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human occludin (UniProt Q16625), with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL.

Performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 7.6% and an inter-assay CV of 9.7%. The kit shows consistent linearity in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery is reported as 88-100% for serum (average 94%) and 90-102% for plasma (average 96%).
