NSMCE2 (also called MMS21 or NSE2) functions as a SUMO E3 ligase subunit of the SMC5/6 chromatin-binding complex, where it is essential for DNA double-strand break repair, homologous recombination, and maintenance of genome stability. Quantitative measurement of circulating NSMCE2 supports research into DNA damage response pathways, tumor progression (altered NSMCE2 expression has been reported across multiple cancer types), and chromosomal instability disorders. The Assay Genie ELISA kit is supplied as a 96 Assays microplate pack containing pre-coated wells, detection antibody, recombinant standards, and substrate reagents. Each well requires 100 uL of human sample, and unopened components should be kept refrigerated until first use to preserve antibody binding activity.
