Investigate NSE as a Biomarker for Lung Carcinoma and Brain Injury

Assay Genie's NSE ELISA Kit enables researchers to quantify neuron-specific enolase (NSE, gamma-enolase, ENO2) in human serum or plasma specimens. NSE is a well-established biomarker for small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC), where elevated circulating levels aid in disease monitoring and treatment response assessment. The assay also supports investigations into neuroendocrine tumors and pediatric neuroblastoma.

Beyond oncology applications, NSE serves as a marker of neuronal injury. Researchers use serum NSE measurements to evaluate outcomes in traumatic brain injury, ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, status epilepticus, and cardiac arrest with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. The kit's microplate-based, enzyme-linked chromogenic readout integrates with standard laboratory plate readers.

Each kit contains pre-coated wells, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, standards, and assay buffers sufficient for 96 determinations. Hemolyzed specimens should be avoided, as NSE is present at high concentrations in erythrocytes and platelet contamination can falsely elevate results.

For research use only. Recommended storage: refrigerated; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of working reagents.
