The Human NPW23 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is built for quantitative measurement of Neuropeptide W-23, a 23-amino acid peptide encoded by the PPL5/PPNPFW gene that signals through the GPR7 and GPR8 receptors to modulate feeding behavior, energy homeostasis, and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal stress axis. Because NPW23 is a short endogenous peptide, the kit uses a competitive immunoassay configuration in which labeled NPW23 competes with analyte in your specimen for antibody binding sites, an approach well suited to small-peptide quantitation in cell culture supernatant, plasma-type, and serum-type specimens.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate and reagents supplied for 96 individual assays. The standard protocol involves pipetting 50 µL of standards or sample into coated wells, incubating with the antibody working solution, washing, adding substrate, and reading absorbance. Signal is inversely proportional to NPW23 concentration. Store unopened components refrigerated and protect from light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the standard and detection antibody. The assay is for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic procedures.

Researchers commonly apply this kit to studies of metabolic regulation, appetite control, neuroendocrine signaling, and stress-related disorders, including measurements of how circulating NPW23 levels shift in obesity models, fasting paradigms, and experimental manipulations of the HPA axis. It is also used to screen cell culture supernatants from transfected cell lines or primary neuronal cultures to confirm peptide release in vitro.
