Human NPHS2/Podocin ELISA Kit

A sandwich, double-antibody ELISA from Assay Genie, this kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of NPHS2 (Podocin) levels in human samples. Podocin is a key protein involved in maintaining the structure and function of the kidney's filtration barrier, and mutations in the NPHS2 gene have been linked to certain kidney diseases, making it an important biomarker for studying renal disorders.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a standard range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported linearity spans 80-104% across dilution series for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, and recovery averages range from 91% to 95% across these matrices.

Storage is at 2-8°C for 12 months. The workflow involves standard and sample incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin incubation for 30 minutes, and TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm after stop solution addition.
