Human NPC2 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS0938)

Quantitative immunoassay for measuring human Niemann-Pick C2 (NPC2), a small soluble lysosomal protein (~16 kDa after signal-peptide cleavage) that binds cholesterol with high affinity and shuttles it from late endosomes and lysosomes. Mutations in NPC2 cause Niemann-Pick disease type C, an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder, and altered circulating levels are being investigated as a biomarker in cholesterol-trafficking and neurodegenerative studies. Research uses of this kit from Assay Genie include cholesterol homeostasis studies, lysosomal storage disease research, and characterization of NPC2 expression across cultured cell models and patient-derived clinical specimens.
