Non-neuronal enolase is an enzyme that plays a role in glycolysis and energy production in cells outside the nervous system. Abnormal levels of this protein have been associated with cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative disorders, making it a useful biomarker for research into disease mechanisms, diagnosis, and potential therapeutic strategies.
