Human NMU/Neuromedin-U ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is a double-antibody colorimetric assay designed for the quantitative detection of Neuromedin-U (NMU) in human samples. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay has a reported sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a working range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL, and kits should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Reported linearity values for diluted matrix samples are 89-103%, 88-105%, and 92-101% for serum (n=5); 85-99%, 82-96%, and 82-99% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 80-93%, 88-100%, and 81-92% for heparin plasma (n=5) at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions. Reported average spike-recovery is 93% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma and 95% for heparin plasma. The procedure uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody followed by HRP-Streptavidin (SABC), TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution is added.

Neuromedin-U is a neuropeptide involved in energy homeostasis, smooth muscle contraction and immune response modulation, and its dysregulation has been linked to obesity, inflammatory bowel disease and asthma.
