Human Nidogen-2 (NID2) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Nidogen-2 (also known as Osteonidogen or NID-2) in biological samples. Intended for research use only, the kit is suited to studies in neurosciences and related fields investigating basement membrane biology, cell adhesion and extracellular matrix organisation, where dysregulation of Nidogen-2 has been linked to cancer, autoimmune disorders and developmental abnormalities.

The kit shows reactivity with human samples and specificity against both natural and recombinant human Nidogen-2. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported performance figures include a detection range of 0.625–40 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.32 ng/ml. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and inter-assay CV of 8.1%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (101–113%, 100–109%, 84–94% and 107–117% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions respectively), EDTA plasma (104–112%, 96–106%, 112–122%, 97–108%) and heparin plasma (109–119%, 94–105%, 98–109%, 100–108%). Recovery averages 96% for serum (range 90–102%) and 98% for plasma (range 92–104%).

Nidogen-2 is a cell adhesion glycoprotein widely distributed in basement membranes, binding collagens I and IV, perlecan and laminin 1, but not fibulins, with a likely role in cell–extracellular matrix interactions.
