Human Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) ELISA Kit

NGAL is a 25 kDa secreted glycoprotein of the lipocalin family, encoded by the LCN2 gene, that binds bacterial siderophores and is rapidly released from neutrophils and renal tubular epithelial cells during injury. Clinically, circulating NGAL serves as an early biomarker of acute kidney injury, with measurable elevations appearing hours before serum creatinine changes, and is also investigated in sepsis, inflammatory bowel disease, cardiovascular events, and several solid tumours including breast, ovarian, colorectal and pancreatic cancers. This microplate-based two-antibody capture assay from Assay Genie uses a recombinant human NGAL standard curve and accepts serum, heparin plasma, EDTA plasma, urine, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and cell culture supernatants for in vitro research use only. Unused strips should be stored at 4 °C in the resealed foil pouch with desiccant; reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
