Human Neurotensin ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this competitive ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of neurotensin in human samples. The assay is coated with antigen and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported sensitivity is 0.938 pg/mL with a working range of 1.563-100 pg/mL. The sealed kit is stored at 2-8°C and should not be cryopreserved.

Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions: serum (n=10) recovered at 85-104%, 89-101% and 85-99%; EDTA plasma (n=10) at 82-97%, 85-99% and 82-95%; and heparin plasma (n=10) at 80-95%, 80-100% and 80-93%. Spike-and-recovery averaged 92% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma and 95% for heparin plasma, with ranges of 88-101%, 89-103% and 88-103% respectively.

Neurotensin is a peptide involved in modulating neurotransmitter activity in the brain and gastrointestinal tract and has been implicated in conditions such as schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease and inflammatory bowel disease. The colourimetric workflow uses a biotin-labeled antibody, TMB substrate and absorbance read at 450 nm.
