Human Neurosecretory protein VGF (VGF) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie intended for the quantitative detection of human neurosecretory protein VGF in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human samples, recognises both natural and recombinant human VGF and is supplied for research use only.

VGF is a neurosecretory protein implicated in neuronal survival, differentiation and synaptic plasticity, and its dysregulation has been linked to neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and exploring potential therapeutic avenues. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 32pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.2% and an inter-assay CV of 6.8%.

Linearity was assessed by serial dilution in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and recovery averaged 96% (range 90-102%) for serum and 98% (range 92-104%) for plasma. The plate is read at 450 nm. The derived antimicrobial peptide VGF[554-577] has been reported to exhibit bactericidal activity against M. luteus and antifungal activity against P. pastoris.
