Human Neuropeptide Y/NPY ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Competitive ELISA Kit enables detection and quantification of Neuropeptide Y (NPY) in human research samples. The assay is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It uses a colorimetric detection method with a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a standard range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL, making it well suited to cell biology research into this abundant neuropeptide.

Neuropeptide Y is a key neurotransmitter involved in regulating physiological processes including appetite, stress response, and cardiovascular function. Dysregulation of NPY has been linked to conditions such as obesity, anxiety disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these disorders and for developing potential therapeutic interventions.

The workflow comprises reagent and plate preparation, binding of sample and biotin-labelled antibody (45 minutes at 37 °C), washing, colour development with TMB substrate, stop reaction, and absorbance reading at 450 nm. Demonstrated linearity for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma ranges between 80% and 103% at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8, with recovery between 86% and 104% depending on matrix. The sealed kit should be stored at 2–8 °C and must not be cryopreserved.
