Human Neuropeptide S (NPS) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Neuropeptide S (NPS) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant human Neuropeptide S and is intended for research use only, supporting work in the immunology research area.

The kit reports a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 32 pg/mL. Precision is given as an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Linearity has been evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions in serum (110-118%, 93-105%, 107-117%, 106-116%), EDTA plasma (108-117%, 106-116%, 108-116%, 87-97%) and heparin plasma (97-105%, 105-118%, 108-119%, 102-102%). Mean recovery is 95% (range 89-101%) in serum and 97% (range 91-103%) in plasma.

Neuropeptide S modulates arousal and anxiety and may play an anorexigenic role; it binds its receptor NPSR1 with nanomolar affinity to increase intracellular calcium, making it a relevant marker for studies of stress responses, mood and related neurological pathways.
