Human Neuromedin-S (NMS) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Neuromedin-S (NMS) in biological samples. Compatible matrices include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with the assay showing specificity for both natural and recombinant human Neuromedin-S.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL, a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.8%. Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is reported as 105-113% to 101-111% for serum, 96-104% to 89-100% for EDTA plasma, and 88-96% to 87-96% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages 96% (range 90-102%) for serum and 98% (range 92-104%) for plasma.

Neuromedin-S is a secreted neuropeptide of the NmU family (UniProt Q5H8A3), implicated in the regulation of circadian rhythms through autocrine and/or paracrine actions, with broader roles reported in neurotransmission, stress response and inflammation. Dysregulation has been implicated in anxiety, depression and inflammatory diseases. The kit is intended for research use only, in the neurosciences area.
