Description

From Assay Genie, this competitive ELISA is designed to measure Neurokinin A (NKA) in human samples using a colorimetric, antigen-coated format. The stated sensitivity is 9.375 pg/mL and the standard curve covers 15.625–1000 pg/mL. Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Storage is at 2–8°C in sealed packaging, with cryopreservation not recommended. The kit targets the protein annotated under UniProt P20366, is also referenced by the synonyms NKA and Neurokinin A, and is positioned within the cell biology research area.

Manufacturer validation reports linearity (n = 10) across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions of 92–105%, 91–105% and 91–104% for serum; 85–96%, 90–99% and 82–93% for EDTA plasma; and 80–100%, 82–100% and 82–97% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges for the same matrices (n = 10) are 85–101% (average 94%) for serum, 88–103% (average 94%) for EDTA plasma, and 92–101% (average 97%) for heparin plasma. The assay protocol adds 50 µL of standard or sample plus 50 µL of biotin-labelled antibody per well, incubates at 37°C for 45 minutes, washes the plate, develops with TMB substrate at 37°C for 10–20 minutes in the dark, stops the reaction (blue-to-yellow colour change), and reads absorbance at 450 nm.

Neurokinin A is a neuropeptide involved in neurotransmission, inflammation and pain perception, and its dysregulation has been associated with asthma, inflammatory diseases and stress-related disorders, supporting its use as a candidate biomarker in related research.
