Human Neuroglobin (NGB) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a sandwich-format ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human neuroglobin (NGB) in research samples. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with detection carried out using a colorimetric ELISA read-out. Specificity is reported for both natural and recombinant human neuroglobin, and the kit is intended for research use in the neurosciences.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 3.12-200 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 1.2 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported as 6.6% CV and inter-assay precision as 9.8% CV.

Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=5) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16. Reported ranges across the dilution series were 96-106% to 112-122% for serum, 99-109% to 104-113% for EDTA plasma, and 96-108% to 89-98% for heparin plasma. Recovery averaged 101% in serum (95-107%) and 103% in plasma (97-109%). Neuroglobin is a hexacoordinate globin involved in oxygen transport in the brain and is implicated in neuroprotection during oxidative stress; the protein is localized to the perikaryon, cytoplasm, and mitochondria, with UniProt entry Q9NPG2.
