Human Neurofilament light polypeptide (NEFL) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of human Neurofilament light polypeptide (NEFL). The kit is intended for research use only and reacts with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with detection carried out by colorimetric means.

NEFL is a key neuronal intermediate filament protein that helps maintain the structural integrity of the nervous system. Altered NEFL levels have been associated with neurological disorders including Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), making this kit a relevant tool for neuroscience research into these conditions. Reported specificity covers natural and recombinant human NEFL.

Manufacturer performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.6% and inter-assay CV is 8.4%. Linearity has been demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions in serum (86-94% to 83-93%), EDTA plasma (110-120% to 100-112%) and heparin plasma (100-110% to 96-105%).
