Human Neurofibromin (NF1) ELISA Kit

This Assay Genie sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human Neurofibromin (NF1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Neurofibromin is a Ras-GAP that regulates cell growth and division, and defects in the protein are linked to neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), Watson syndrome and familial spinal neurofibromatosis. The kit provides high sensitivity and specificity for both natural and recombinant human Neurofibromin and is intended for research use only.

Key performance specifications include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 34 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.3% and inter-assay CV is 7.7%. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 97-106% at 1:2 to 92-102% at 1:16, with EDTA plasma and heparin plasma also evaluated across the same dilution series. Recovery averages 100% (range 94-106%) in serum and 102% (range 96-108%) in plasma.

Neurofibromin, also known as Neurofibromatosis-related protein NF-1 (UniProt P21359), stimulates the GTPase activity of Ras and is localised to the nucleus and nucleolus. The kit offers a robust tool for studies into NF1 pathology and related conditions.
