Human Neuroendocrine protein 7B2 (SCG5) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of human Neuroendocrine protein 7B2 (SCG5) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and recognises both natural and recombinant human SCG5, also referred to as Secretogranin V, Secretogranin-5, Pituitary polypeptide, Secretory granule endocrine protein I, or SGNE1.

Validated performance figures include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 16pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.9% and inter-assay CV is 9.0%. Linearity for serum (N=5) across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is 107-116%, 104-114%, 88-98% and 100-111% respectively. EDTA plasma (N=5) gives 115-127%, 106-117%, 85-96% and 106-115%, while heparin plasma (N=5) gives 82-91%, 105-117%, 105-115% and 111-121%. Recovery in serum averages 89% (range 83-95%) and in plasma averages 91% (range 85-97%).

SCG5 is a secreted neuroendocrine and endocrine secretory granule protein that functions as a molecular chaperone for PCSK2/PC2, preventing its premature activation in the regulated secretory pathway and supporting its transport and proteolytic maturation. The protein also plays a role in regulating pituitary hormone secretion, and its dysregulation has been linked to neuroendocrine tumors and related disorders.
