Human Neuritin (NRN1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Neuritin (NRN1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only, supporting studies in neuroscience and investigations of neuronal development and synaptic plasticity.

Neuritin, also known as candidate plasticity gene 15 (synonym NRN, UniProt Q9NPD7), is reported to promote neurite outgrowth and especially branching of neuritic processes in primary hippocampal and cortical cells, and has been linked to neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia and epilepsy. Assay specificity covers natural and recombinant human Neuritin.

The kit reports a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.1% and inter-assay CV is 8.6%. Subcellular localisation includes the cell membrane as a GPI-anchored lipid-anchor protein, cell junction and synapse, with a reported molecular weight of 15,333 Da.
