NCAM1, also designated CD56, is a heavily glycosylated membrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that mediates calcium-independent homophilic adhesion between neighboring cells. This Assay Genie quantitative immunoassay enables researchers to measure soluble Neural cell adhesion molecule 1 in human research specimens, supporting studies of neuronal migration, axonal fasciculation, synaptic plasticity, and immune-cell surface marker profiling.
Translational applications include biomarker investigations in neurodegenerative disease and psychiatric disorder research, alongside oncology workflows where CD56 status is clinically informative, including small-cell lung carcinoma, multiple myeloma, and NK-cell leukemia studies. The kit is supplied as a complete reagent pack containing pre-coated microplate strips, recombinant standards, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, enzyme substrate solution, and wash buffer, sized for 96 individual reactions in a single-use plate format.
Reagents are shipped ready for refrigerated storage, and the kit is intended for research use only in ELISA plate-reader workflows.
