Human Natural resistance-associated macrophage protein 2 (SLC11A2) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the precise measurement of Natural resistance-associated macrophage protein 2 (SLC11A2) levels in human samples. The colorimetric assay targets the human protein and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics are a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10pg/mL, with intra-assay CV of 4.8% and inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Linearity was demonstrated for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. Mean recovery was 92% (range 86-98%) for serum and 94% (range 88-100%) for plasma.

SLC11A2, also known as NRAMP2, is a multi-pass membrane protein involved in metal transport, particularly iron, and has also been reported to transport manganese, cobalt, cadmium, nickel, vanadium and lead. It contributes to apical iron uptake in duodenal enterocytes, iron transport from acidified endosomes into erythroid precursor cells, hepatic iron accumulation and tissue iron distribution, and may import iron into the mitochondria.
