The Assay Genie Human Napsin A ELISA Kit provides researchers with a quantitative tool for measuring aspartic peptidase concentrations in experimental specimens. Napsin A is a lysosomal aspartic protease predominantly expressed in renal tubular epithelium and pulmonary type II pneumocytes, where it processes prosurfactant protein B into its mature functional form. In oncology research, Napsin A serves as a diagnostic immunohistochemical marker for primary lung adenocarcinoma, helping to distinguish it from pleural mesothelioma and metastatic extrapulmonary tumors. Investigators also apply this aspartic peptidase marker to clear cell renal cell carcinoma studies and to investigations of pulmonary surfactant metabolism. Each microplate kit includes pre-coated capture antibody wells, biotin-conjugated detector reagent, streptavidin-HRP working solution, lyophilized recombinant standards, and assay diluent. Standard laboratory protocol calls for pipetting a 100 µL sample volume into each well, incubating, washing, and reading absorbance on a microplate reader. Reconstituted standards remain stable for short-term use when refrigerated, while the kit components are intended for research use only in in vitro experimental workflows. This peptide biomarker assay supports translational projects in lung cancer biology, nephrology research, and biomarker discovery programs.
