Built for quantitative measurement of N-acetyl-alpha-galactosaminidase (NAGA) in human-derived samples, this immunoassay from Assay Genie is part of the company's PharmaGenie line for preclinical and pharmaceutical research. NAGA is a lysosomal hydrolase that cleaves terminal alpha-N-acetylgalactosamine residues from glycolipids and glycoproteins, and reduced NAGA activity is the molecular cause of Schindler disease and Kanzaki disease, two related lysosomal storage disorders. Studies of lysosomal enzyme biology, glycosphingolipid catabolism, and inherited metabolic disease rely on accurate protein-level quantification, and this kit supplies a tool for that work in patient samples and in matched cell-based models.

The kit ships as a 96-assay microplate configuration with sufficient reagents for a full standard curve plus unknown samples. It has been validated against three starting matrices - conditioned media from cultured cells, EDTA-treated plasma, and serum from human donors - so that a single workflow moves between in vitro release data and circulating protein measurements without switching to a different kit. Each run yields an absorbance readout on a standard microplate reader, and the assay is intended for research use only.

Because the same protocol accepts cell-derived and blood-derived matrices, the kit is well suited to studies that connect in vitro enzyme release to in vivo circulating protein levels, a frequent need in lysosomal storage disorder research. Reagents arrive refrigerated and components should be stored according to the enclosed insert to preserve activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Researchers handling multiple specimen types will appreciate not having to re-optimize when moving between supernatant, plasma, and serum experiments within a project.
