Human N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase (GALNS) ELISA Kit

GALNS is a lysosomal exohydrolase required for the degradation of glycosaminoglycans including keratan sulfate and chondroitin 6-sulfate. Deficiencies in GALNS activity cause mucopolysaccharidosis type IVA (Morquio A syndrome), an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disease, making GALNS a relevant biomarker for researchers studying lysosomal storage disorders, exploring potential therapeutics, and monitoring treatment efficacy. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human GALNS, which functions as a homodimer localised to the lysosome (UniProt P34059). For research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.5% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Reported linearity in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma spans dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 (serum 81-116%, EDTA plasma 87-116%, heparin plasma 87-120%). Reported recovery is 107% (range 101-113%) in serum and 109% (range 103-115%) in plasma.
