Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Myosin regulatory light polypeptide 9 (MYL9) in biological samples. The assay shows specificity for natural and recombinant human MYL9 and is intended for research use only.

MYL9 is a regulatory light chain of myosin that plays an important role in regulation of both smooth muscle and nonmuscle cell contractile activity via its phosphorylation, and has been implicated in cytokinesis, receptor capping, and cell locomotion. Dysregulation of MYL9 has been linked to diseases such as hypertension, asthma, and cancer, highlighting its relevance as a potential biomarker for disease diagnosis and therapeutic development. The UniProt accession for the human protein is P24844.

The kit is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 31pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.3%, and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%. Recovery in serum averages 99% (range 93-105%) and in plasma averages 101% (range 95-107%). Linearity for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 is detailed in the product datasheet. Detection is colorimetric.
