Human Myoglobin (MB) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format immunoassay from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human myoglobin (MB) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant human myoglobin.

Reported performance specifications include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.087 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision (CV) is 6.4% and inter-assay CV is 8.3%. Linearity has been evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with values ranging from 82% to 120% across the tested conditions. Average recovery is 94% for serum (range 88-100%) and 96% for plasma (range 90-102%).

Myoglobin (UniProt P02144) is a globin-family carrier protein expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscle, where it serves as a reserve supply of oxygen and facilitates the movement of oxygen within muscle tissue.
