Human Myogenin (MYOG) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of human Myogenin (MYOG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with human samples and detects both natural and recombinant human myogenin (UniProt P15173), with absorbance read at 450 nm.

The kit reports a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.12 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.8% and inter-assay CV is 5.9%. Dilutional linearity (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) was 102–112%, 94–102%, 103–113% and 97–110% for serum (N=5); 92–100%, 106–118%, 98–108% and 96–106% for EDTA plasma (N=5); and 108–118%, 90–100%, 92–101% and 97–105% for heparin plasma (N=5). Spike-and-recovery averaged 98% (range 92–104%) in serum and 100% (range 94–106%) in plasma.

Myogenin acts as a transcriptional activator that promotes transcription of muscle-specific target genes and plays a role in muscle differentiation, cell cycle exit and muscle atrophy, and is essential for the development of functional embryonic skeletal fiber muscle differentiation.
