Human Myocardin (MYOCD) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of human myocardin (MYOCD), this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie employs a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only. The assay demonstrates a sensitivity of 0.083 ng/mL with a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay CV of 3.6% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, cell lysates and other biological fluids, with dedicated preparation protocols described for each matrix. The kit detects both natural and recombinant human myocardin. Linearity has been characterised across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and recovery performance is reported for serum and plasma.

Myocardin is a nuclear transcriptional coactivator expressed in heart, aorta and other smooth muscle cell-containing tissues. It functions as a cofactor of serum response factor (SRF), modulating expression of cardiac and smooth muscle-specific SRF-target genes, and plays a crucial role in cardiogenesis and differentiation of the smooth muscle cell lineage. Dysregulation of myocardin expression has been linked to cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension and atherosclerosis, supporting its use as a biomarker for cardiovascular research.
