Human Myelin basic protein (MBP) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human myelin basic protein (MBP) in serum and plasma. MBP is a major constituent of the myelin sheath surrounding nerve fibres in the central nervous system, and altered MBP levels have been associated with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating disorders, making this kit suitable for related research applications.

The assay reports a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.21 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.7%. Recovery averages 101% (range 95–107%) in serum and 103% (range 97–109%) in plasma, and linearity is demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.

Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant human myelin basic protein (UniProt P02686). Compatible specimens cover serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and the kit is intended for research use only.
